Pinaaalalahanan ang publiko na huwag basta-bastang bumili online o sa social media ng bakuna kontra Japanese encephalitis.

Sa pahayag na inilabas ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA), sinabing maaaring mas mababang kalidad, hindi pasado sa standards, o peke ang mabiling bakuna mula sa mga nagtitinda online at sa mga hindi awtorisadong distributor.

"In view of these reports, the FDA warns the public against availing vaccines from online sellers and other unauthorized distributors or retailers," pahayag ng ahensiya.

"Consumers availing from these unauthorized distributors or retailers are at risk of buying vaccines of poor quality, compromised by non-compliance to the required standards of FDA, or worse, at risk of buying counterfeit products.”

Ayon pa kay Department of Health undersecretary Gerardo Bayugo, sa parmasiya dapat bumili ng bakuna at dapat may preskripsiyon. Ipinapayo rin na sa doktor magpabakuna.

Sinabi naman ng manufacturer ng Japanese encephalitis vaccine sa bansa na may inirerekomendang paraan ng storage sa vaccine, at maaaring makompromiso ang bisa nito kapag hindi ito nasunod.

"JE vaccines are required to be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. If these vaccines are not handled and stored according to their storage requirements, quality may be compromised," pahayag ng Sanofi Pasteur.

Sakali namang may makita na nagbebenta ng bakuna na hindi awtorisado, maaaring magsumbong sa Center for Drug Regulation and Research sa numerong (02) 809-55-96.
