MANILA - Reynaldo de Guzman, the 14-year-old companion of slain teenager Carl Angelo Arnaiz, was found dead in Nueva Ecija on Wednesday.

The father positively identified the body of De Guzman, whose face was wrapped in tape, at a funeral parlor in Gapan City.

He was able to confirm that it was his son through a mark on the boy's neck and a wart on the left knee.

"Wala silang awang pumatay ng batang nawawala. Tinadtad nila ng saksak," the mother said beside her son's corpse.

De Guzman and Arnaiz both went missing on August 17, when they left their homes in Cainta, Rizal to buy midnight snacks.

The body of Arnaiz was first found in a funeral parlor in Caloocan City 10 days after being reported missing.

He sustained 5 gunshot wounds and bore marks of possible torture, according to an autopsy report.

Police claim Arnaiz tried to rob a taxi driver who immediately reported to the police. The teenager, cops claim, tried to shoot them, prompting them to return fire.--report from Jasmin Romero, ABS-CBN News
