MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said it is pursuing a lead on the explosion in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat on Tuesday.

PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde said eyewitnesses can positively identify a suspect who bought from the fruit stand along the national highway.

The suspect later placed a bag under a motorcycle owned by a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit before the explosion.

Albayalde said the eyewitnesses were alarmed when they saw the bag being shoved under the motorcycle.

"Mukhang 'yung mga CAFGU natin doon even the community lumalabas aware naman sila sa mga ganito. Nung nakita na suspicious nung nakita na sinisipa or inuusog yung bag sa ilalim ng motorsiklo hinabol na itong taong ito but then lumalabas na meron pa siyang kasama na rider na nagmamaneho doon sa isang motorsiklo sa may kanto," he said.

"So doon sila nakatakbo at hindi nahabol ng CAFGU at sumabog na from there yung IED (improvised explosive device)."

Albayalde said an artist's sketch was drafted based on eyewitnesses’ descriptions.

"Hopefully ma-identify natin ito through the carto kasi marami naman nakakita at kung ito ay nasa rogues gallery natin ma-identify natin ito. Hopefully itong mga witnesses marami naman kasi. Una bumili sya ng prutas so from there nakausap din natin yung vendor na nagbenta ng prutas," he said.

Albayalde said they will not yet release the sketch.

"Pero hindi pa natin pwede ilabas because masyadong maaga pa and we are still looking for other persons of interest," he explained.

The PNP has yet to identify either the motive behind the blast or the group behind the bombing.

“We don't want to confirm anything yet kasi the investigation is till ongoing," he said.

"Meron pa tayong experts na EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) and of course yung Philippine Bomb Data Center na manggaling pa dito, pinapunta natin doon to collate para makita kung ano talaga itong signature, kung saan galing or kung sino may gawa nitong IED na ito."
