MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said he will release a matrix that explains the dynamics of the illegal drug network in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) under the previous administration.

Among the officials in this matrix, he said, are former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and former Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan.

"I will show to you, maybe this week, the matrix. Vina-validate ko lang. 'Yung matrix ng Muntinlupa connection. Nandoon si De Lima, actually," Duterte told reporters.

De Lima is the highest ex-government official in the matrix, followed by Baraan, he said.

Duterte also said a governor, who is also his friend, is included in the matrix.

"There is also a governor. You know, he's my friend. I can't believe it, but andyan siya sa ano...(it's a) revelation," he added.

He further said that the drug matrix will explain what De Lima's role is in the illegal drug trade in NBP.

"Sa matrix, so it can show there, her role there," Duterte said.

Duterte earlier accused De Lima's former driver and bodyguard, Ronnie Dayan, of being her link to convicted drug lords, who were supposedly allowed to run their illegal operations from detention when she was justice secretary.

De Lima has denied this allegation. On Tuesday, she also belied existence of shabu laboratories inside the NBP when she was justice chief.
