MANDAUE CITY - Improvised weapons, not drugs were sized from inmates of a city jail here on Saturday, one week after millions of pesos in cash and narcotics were recovered in raids on neighboring facilities, authorities said.

Knives, scissors, lighters, and carpentry tools were sized from the Mandaue City jail after a pre-dawn inspection.

Senior Superintendent Rommel Alanas, the city police chief, said the facility passed the surprise check.
