TACLOBAN CITY - Two bodyguards of Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa and three other individuals were arrested by authorities in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Benolho Thursday afternoon, police said.

Seized from the suspects were around 237 grams of suspected shabu worth about P1.9 million.

The arrest bodyguards of Espinosa were identified as Jessie Ocarez, 34; and Marcelo Adorco, 40.

Also arrested were Jose Antipuesto, 36; Ernesto Dumalat, 20; and Jeffrey Pesquera, 39.

Drug paraphernalia, two units of a cal. 45 Glock 21 pistol, 33 pieces of live ammunition, three P100 bills used as marked money, and cash amounting to P23,870 were seized from the suspects.

The suspects were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory of Police Regional Office 8 for documentation, pending the filling of proper charges against them.
