CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - Two users and pushers of illegal drugs who voluntarily surrendered to authorities during Oplan Tokhang in Misamis Oriental recently were gunned down on Saturday in Cagayan de Oro City.

Killed were White Jack Sigla and Sammy Dagus, both residents of the municipality of Tagoloan in Misamis Oriental. Their bodies were discovered early Saturday morning along Barangay Balubal in Cagayan de Oro City.

Carlos Sigla said his son and the other victim were drug users and pushers who voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Wednesday during Oplan Tokhang of the Tagoloan Police Station.

Initial investigation disclosed that both victims sustained gunshot wounds to the head. Recovered from Dagus' short pants were a tooter, a heat sealed sachet, lighter and scissors.

Meanwhile, Tagoloan Police station Deputy Commander, Inspector Dante Jallasgo confirmed that the two surrendered in their municipality and took oath the following day.

Jallasgo denied the presence of vigilantes in his area of responsibility.

He said as of July 9, over 1,200 users and pushers of illegal drugs have surrendered during Oplan Tokhang.
