MANILA - A Skyjet Airlines plane on Friday afternoon overshot the runway of the Francisco B. Reyes airport in Coron, Palawan, authorities said.

Skyjet flight M8 717 figured in a "runway excursion at the end of the runway east side of the aerodrome beyond the fence," according to an initial report of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

It said all 80 passengers and 6 crew members were safe.

CAAP added that it has dispatched aircraft accident investigators to conduct an inquiry.
