Trillanes had most absences

MANILA - Four senators recorded perfect attendance during the second regular session of the 17th Congress.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senators Aquilino Pimentel III and Panfilo Lacson were able to complete all 79 session days of the chamber, data released by the Senate Journal Service showed.

Both Sotto and Lacson previously recorded perfect attendance during the first regular session which had 87 session days.

Those who had only one absence, meanwhile, were Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon and Senators Nancy Binay, Risa Hontiveros, and Gringo Honasan.

They were followed by Senators Cynthia Villar and Joel Villanueva, who only had two absences.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, meanwhile, recorded the lowest attendance as he was present in only 52 session days, missing a total of 27 plenary meets.

The senator, whose term will finish next year, also went on 20 official missions and incurred four absences or sick leaves.

Sen. Manny Pacquiao, who was previously criticized for his poor attendance during his days as Sarangani Representative, posted the second lowest attendance, making it to 64 session days.

Prior to becoming a senator, the Filipino boxing icon had promised to put his full focus on his job in the Senate.

  • Richard Gordon - 73
  • Jv Ejercito - 71
  • Loren Legarda - 70
  • Ralph Recto - 69
  • Bam Aquino - 68
  • Sonny Angara - 67
  • Francis Escudero - 66
  • Francis Pangilinan - 65

Due to her detention, Sen. Leila de Lima recorded zero attendance.
