Students and members of the parents-teachers council of the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) on Monday, May 27, staged a protest at the school grounds as the premier science high school’s board of trustees has yet to release a decision on the fate of 6 male students who allegedly shared lewd photos of their female schoolmates online. MANILA -- Philippine Science High School students and parents staged another protest on Monday, as they awaited the fate of 6 male seniors accused of posting lewd photos of female schoolmates online.

Carrying signs that read "Stop tolerating sexual predators" and "protect your students" some 20 protesters gathered at the PSHS grounds ahead of the graduation rites on Wednesday.

The school's board allegedly allowed the 6 male seniors to graduate in spite of the allegations.

One of the protesters, Devi Negre from the school's parent-teacher group, quoted PSHS Deputy Executive Director Rod De Lara as saying that there was no final list of graduating students yet, contrary to reports that the roster included the 6 seniors.

The "harshest" possible punishment should be given to the male students since the victims are young women, said PSHS alumna Sabrina Gacad.

"Ngayon, you would see all these things come up on social media on a regular basis. I just did not realize that it would hit Pisay too," Gacad said.

Julliane Negre, PSHS’s Batch 2019 council president, said the senior class would would not let the incident dampen their graduation rites.

“As the advise of our teachers, director, even if merong nangyaring ganito, it’s still your graduation, it’s still the 6 years you’ve worked so hard for,” she said.
