"I want to see first the plans of the Department of Tourism. Ayoko pang magsabi kung tutuluyin ba o hindi. I want to see kasi baka naman may kontrata na sila. Hindi ko alam. Titingnan muna natin," she said in an Umagang Kay Ganda interview.

"Pero definitely mga projects namin with them involving agriculture, ipagpapatuloy natin 'yan."

Teo, in an earlier interview, said the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) is offering the hosting rights of the prestigious pageant.

Former Ilocos Sur governor and business tycoon Luis "Chavit" Singson is also prepared to foot the bill again provided the government will share in the expenses.

He spent some $15 million when the country hosted the Miss Universe 2016 pageant.

The presence of MUO and 3 titleholders in the country have also fanned speculations that the Philippines is the next venue for the beauty tilt's 67th edition.

MUO president Paula Shugart, reigning Miss Universe Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, and France's Iris Mittenaere were at a dinner hosted by Singson.

Pageant-crazy Philippines hosted the Miss Universe pageant in 1974, 1994 and 2017 and has produced two other titleholders aside from German-Filipina Wurtzbach, Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margarita Moran in 1974.

Catriona Gray, a former Miss World top 5 finisher, will represent the Philippines in the 67th Miss Universe.
