BOHOL - The La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria or the Baclayon Church, which was badly damaged by a magnitude 7.2 earthquake that hit Bohol in 2013, stands today with a restored facade.

Its interior, however, has yet to be completed.

With construction work on hold during the Holy Week break, the Baclayon Church opened its doors to tourists who want to see the progress of its restoration.

Images of saints were also put on display for visitors.

Parish priest Nilo Batausa noted the strong demand from tourists who want to have a closer look at the historical church.

He also announced that the restoration is expected to be completed by December 8, just in time for their town's fiesta.

The Baclayon Church is being restored under the National Historical Commission of the Philippines.
