A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Lanao del Sur early Thursday morning, less than a day after a magnitude 6.0 tremor shook the province and nearby areas in Mindanao.

The quake struck at a depth of 6 kilometers near Wao in Lanao Del Sur at around 4:01 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

It was felt at Intensity VI in Kalilangan, Bukidnon; Intensity V in Wao, Lanao Del Sur and Valencia City; Intensity IV in Kadingilan, Maramag, and Pangantucan, Bukidnon; Intensity III in Cagayan de Oro City; and Intensity II in Cotabato City and Kidapawan City.
