Metro Manila traffic advisories for Holy Week

Here are some important traffic reminders for those staying in Metro Manila this Holy Week break.

The Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or the Number Coding Scheme in all areas in Metro Manila (except in Las Piñas and Makati) will be lifted on April 12 (Holy Wednesday) up to April 17 (Monday).

Number coding in Makati is lifted from April 13 (Maundy Thursday) to April 14 (Good Friday), according to Mayor Abigail Binay.

Number coding in Las Piñas is also lifted from April 13 to April 14 according to Mayor Imelda Aguilar.

The uniformed light truck ban will be lifted from April 11 (Tuesday) to April 15 (Black Saturday).

The ban on provincial buses along EDSA from Timog Avenue to P. Tuazon Avenue will also be lifted starting April 12 (Wednesday) until April 17 (Monday).

Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced its projects during the Holy Week.

Motorists are advised to avoid the following areas:

- P. Burgos Street crossing Bonifacio Drive/Roxas Boulevard, Manila (construction of reinforced concrete box culvert)

- EDSA southbound, 2nd lane between Roosevelt Avenue to Quezon Avenue, Quezon City

- Commonwealth Avenue northbound, 4th lane between Litex Road and Doña Carmen, Quezon City

- Quirino Highway between Mindanao Avenue to Araceli Street in Quezon City, 2nd lane

- Congressional Avenue Extension between Luzon Street to Tandang Sora, Quezon City, 3rd lane

- EDSA southbound, 3rd lane, in front of Citynet 1, Mandaluyong City

- EDSA southbound, 1st lane, in front of Transcom, Mandaluyong City

- EDSA southbound, 1st lane, in front of Lux Center, Mandaluyong City

- EDSA southbound, 1st lane, near corner Shaw Service Road, Mandaluyong City

- EDSA northbound, 3rd lane, EDSA Shrine area

- C5 Road southbound, between J. Vargas Avenue to Pasig Boulevard, Pasig City

- C5 Road southbound, Makati/Pasig Boulevard to Commando Link, Makati City

- MacArthur Highway between Cayetano Street to China Bank, Valenzuela City, 1st lane

- EDSA southbound, vicinity of Tripa de Gallina fronting Kabayan Hotel, Pasay City

- A. Bonifacio Avenue, northbound, 1st lane, near corner Cloverleaf (pipelaying for new water service connection)
