MANILA -- Pro-Duterte groups on Sunday held a rally at the Quirino Grandstand to call for the ouster of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Called "Palit Bise," the rally was led by vocal critics of Robredo such as Jimmy Bondoc and Mocha Uson.

"Walang pulitikong nagpondo sa 'Palit Bise' rally," Bondoc said.

The program began late Sunday afternoon and saw attendees bringing posters with the slogan "Leni Robredo impeach or resign!"

Other groups, meanwhile, took the rally as an opportunity to voice their support for the President with banners of "Stop Shaming Duterte."

Speaking to reporters at Cagayan de Oro, Duterte refused to comment on the rally against Robredo, saying he is "beyond politics."

Robredo's camp also downplayed the rally, saying both the President and the Vice President respect each other's work.

"Malinaw na batay sa huli nilang pagkikita, nakatutok ang Pangulo at Pangalawang Pangulo sa kani-kanilang trabaho. May kapwa paggalang sa mandato ng bawat isa," Barry Guiterrez, legal adviser of Robredo, said.

Calls to impeach Robredo came following the release of her video message to the United Nations where she criticized the administration's war on drugs. -- with reports from Jerome Lantin and Zhander Cayabyab, ABS-CBN News
