MAGUINDANAO—An improvised explosive device (IED) was recovered in Barangay Kabingi, Datu Saudi Ampatuan town in this province at about 4 p.m. on Thursday.

According to Datu Saudi Ampatuan Chief of Police, Police Senior Inspector Abdulbasit Kulod said the bomb was found by a civilian, who immediately reported his discovery to authorities.

The IED was wrapped in packaging tape and had wires attached to it. It was found on the side of the Datu Saudi Ampatuan National Highway.
