President Rodrigo Duterte has declared April 2 a special non-working day in Bataan.

Duterte signed Proclamation No. 458 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Francisco Baltazar, a prominent Filipino poet and orator.

Baltazar, also known as Balagtas, resided in Bataan after marrying a woman from Orion town. He also died there in 1862.

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the province of Bataan be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies," the proclamation said.
