MANILA - The Commission on Appointments (CA) on Wednesday approved the appointment of Education secretary Leonor Briones.

Briones, a former national treasurer, said as DepEd secretary, she hopes to produce students who do not only love their country, but learners who also "know its history and are prepared to defend its interests."
