BE PATIENT: Motivational business speaker Francis Kong does not see a problem with President Rodrigo Duterte's decision to adjust his timeline to end the drug war by the end of his term.

Kong underscored the need for a process in order to get results.

"I'm a person who understands business. You don't get result by means of an event. To get good result, you need process. That's why process takes time," he said in a press briefing at Malacañang Thursday.

Kong added that he has heard millennials saying that the public was left unaware with the magnitude of the illegal drug problem.

"If you are a business person with a business mindset, identifying the problem is already 50 percent of the solution. So I would rather still say that we got to be patient and wait for more results," he said.

Duterte, who won the presidential elections with a promise to solve the country's illegal drug problem in six months but extended it for another six months, said his war on drugs will now last until the end of his term.

"I will extend it to the last day of my term," Duterte said. "March no longer applies."

Duterte has repeatedly been criticized for his bloody war on drugs which has left thousands dead in either police operations or by vigilantes.
