MANILA (UPDATED) - Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa has ordered the relief of several cops caught on CCTV while supposedly planting drugs during a raid at an office building, an official said Friday.

According to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Director Oscar Albayalde, Dela Rosa ordered the transfer of the cops to the PNP Holding and Accounting Unit, pending a probe into the incident.

"The Chief PNP has already ordered for the investigation at na-relieve na iyung mga taong iyun with the Holding and Accounting Unit," Abayalde announced at a press conference.

Albayalde declined to confirm how many cops were relieved.

Senator Panfilo Lacson on Thursday presented a CCTV clip during the legislative probe into the killing of South Korean Jee Ick Joo, who allegedly died at the hands of rogue cops.

The videos taken last October 26, 2016 show policemen rushing into an office and instructing employees to transfer to a separate room.

The police officers then start rummaging through the desks of the employees. One police officer is seen taking something from his bag and placing it on the desks.

Lacson, a former Philippine National Police chief, said the alleged planting of drugs is not an isolated incident, and called on the PNP to strengthen its counter-intelligence activities.

Meanwhile, Albayalde issued a stern warning against erring cops of the NCRPO, reminding them that they will be immediately investigated should they be involved in illegal activities.

He also said that the NCRPO will not tolerate rogue cops and "bad eggs."

Albayalde also said they are doing their best to resolve administrative cases against police.

(We are doing everything to resolve the cases and punish erring cops, so as to give justice to their victims. We encourage the public to continue coordinating with the police and inform us of your complaints, as well as any good deed done by cops for them to be properly recognized.) -- with a report from Henry Atuelan, DZMM
