MANILA - As the Philippine National Police grapples with the kidnap-slay of a South Korean businessman allegedly at the hands of rogue policemen, PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa revealed Monday that another Korean has been victimized by scalawag cops in a robbery-hold-up incident in Angeles, Pampanga.

In a press conference, Dela Rosa said Central Luzon police office informed him Sunday night that several policemen from Angeles, Pampanga were behind the robbery-holdup of a Korean last month.

"Mayroon na namang Korean na biktima. Nangyari ito last December. Ewan ko kung ilang pulis ang involved," he said. "Hindi naman sinabi na pinatay -- hinoldap."

(Another Korean has been victimized. This happened last December. I don't know how many cops were involved. There is no information that the victim was killed, he was robbed.)

Dela Rosa said he is still awaiting the full report of the Central Luzon police regarding the case.

Nonetheless, he promised there will be no cover-up in the investigation.

"No cover up, wag kayong mag-alala. Ang cover-up na gagawin natin e i-cover up natin ng lupa iyang mga pulis na iyan," he said.

(There will be no cover up, don't worry. The only cover-up we'll do is when we cover-up these policemen with earth.)

Dela Rosa's statement comes amid an investigation into the murder of Korean businessman Ick-Joo Jee who was allegedly abducted in the guise of an anti-drug operation and later killed inside Camp Crame.

"We are outraged by the abduction and slay of a South Korean executive inside Camp Crame," said Duterte's spokesman Ernesto Abella.

"We assure everyone that there will be no whitewash or cover-up. We will not tolerate abusive, errant policemen who betray the organisation."

The businessman disappeared from his home in Angeles City north of Manila last October.

Police from a special anti-drug unit abducted him under the guise of a raid on illegal drugs.

A policeman then strangled him inside Camp Crame, the national police headquarters in Manila, the Justice Department said last week.
