MANILA - The wife of former Iglesia ni Cristo minister Lowell Menorca II has released a cellphone video of how two alleged cops in civilian clothes tried to arrest her husband in the middle of the street without even showing their badges.

The Facebook video showed a man wearing a striped shirt, shorts and slippers grabbing Menorca in the middle of the street.

"May warrant of arrest! May warrant of arrest!" the man said while holding Menorca.

He also said: "Arestuhin na! Tawagin niyo yung mobile."

Another man wearing a blue shirt, meanwhile, tried to show a document, which Menorca's wife, Jinky Otsuka, then grabbed.

In the video, Menorca's wife could be heard screaming: "Tulungan niyo kami! Bawal yang ginagawa mo! Tulungan niyo kami. Walang aakyat. Walang ngingidnap."

She also challenged the alleged policemen: "Nasan yung badge mo, pulis ka? Wala! Wala! Asan yung badge? Nasaan yung patunay mong pulis ka?"

During the arrest, Menorca could be heard saying: "Ako ang Iglesia ni Cristo na kinidnap nila. "

In a separate DZMM interview, Mrs. Menorca said she tried to prevent the policemen from arresting her husband because they did not even show their badges.

"Naka sibilyan, naka tsinelas yung isa. Ganun po ba ang paga-arrest sa atin? Wala pong nakarating sa amin na notice na mayroon na po siyang warrant," she said.

"Wala pong procedure yan so paano po kami papayag? Papunta po kami sa hearing ngayon para makapagsalita ang asawa ko sa katotohanan e pilit nilang pinipigilan tapos sasabihin nila ngayon walang kinalaman ang Iglesia?" she added.
