MANILA - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is set to broadcast an online TV channel starting May 30.

DOSTv is aimed at showcasing local science and technology news and features. It will also initially highlight weather forecasts and updates as the “Filipino Weather Channel.”

The first Filipino-built micro-satellite, the Diwata-1, is slated to be its first science story to be broadcast on May 30.

With a powerful camera and multispectral imager, Diwata-1, launched last April 27, is intended for disaster management and risk reduction, and weather monitoring. Its deployment length is at least 18 months.
