MANILA -- A feng shui consultant on Thursday predicted that President Rodrigo Duterte will be "very good" for the Philippines.

Dr. Andy Tan noted that Duterte's inauguration as the country's 16th president June 30, 2016, after garnering 16 million votes is a good omen in numerology.

"When you add it (the number 16) together and make it single digit, it’s 777. Lucky seven. Three times seven, 21. Two plus one, three. That’s a triad, that’s a pyramid of Egypt, a very powerful number," he explained on "Mornings@ANC" on Thursday.

"It’s very good for the country, the Philippines. Happy to say so."

Numerology also showed that the number of letters in Duterte's name -- Rodrigo Roa Duterte -- totals 737, another lucky combination.

Tan believes this is a "very positive" start for the incoming administration.

"Based on feng shui principles, this year is the Year of Fire Monkey, wherein the most auspicious location is south, southwest, south east. Davao is southwest," said Tan, who recommends that Duterte stay in Davao rather than in Malacañang in Manila.

But Tan also warned that there will also be some challenges based on feng shui. In particular, he said someone in Duterte's cabinet "might betray him."

"At the start, they will follow his order. But somewhere along the way, they will now shift gear, in such a way that they will go against him," he said.

Tan also pointed out that Duterte's Western sign is Aries -- same as former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, as well as the late Iraqi leader Saddam Hussain.

"They are determined. By hook or by crook, what they say, it will happen," he said, adding that this, however, could also lead to trouble given what happened to the three other leaders.

Tan said he also expects clashes between Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo because of their signs.

Robredo is a Taurus and was born in the Year of the Dragon.

"Based on the chart, double strength -- and maybe a double whammy. Number one cannot see eye to eye with number two and vice versa because of personality clash," Tan said.

For this reason, Tan said it may be better that Robredo is not part of Duterte's Cabinet so they can avoid "contradicting energies."

Tan also noted that 2017, the Year of the Fire Rooster, may not be good, health-wise, for Duterte, who was born in the Year of the Wood Rooster.

He clarified, however, that he is not referring to a "dreadful, ICU-setting kind of disease."

"It’s just a typical hypertensive, blood sugar on the borderline, things like that. It’s manageable but it’s more because of the stress and because of his age," said Tan.

Also born in the Chinese Year of the Dragon are Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno and Senator Koko Pimentel, who is poised to lead the upper house.

"In feng shui principles, wow. This is one of the best years," said Tan.

Moreover, global feng shui at the start of the millennium points to good fortune for those in the southern hemisphere.

"Philippines per se is gonna do good," he said, citing the country's economic growth. "Everything is rosy. Everything is going up."

Still, Tan conceded that there may be unexpected events like typhoons and other natural disasters.

"But thinking positive and working hard for it is a good start," he said.
