MANILA – ABS-CBN News anchor Korina Sanchez finally finished her Master’s degree in Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday.

On Instagram, Sanchez shared a photo of her wearing a graduation cap as she expressed her excitement about finishing her course.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News before the May 9 national elections, Sanchez said taking up higher studies has always been in her bucket list.

However, it always had to take the back seat because she was so busy with her work for ABS-CBN.

“A few years ago I had an inkling we were going through this whole political exercise again and my mind kept racing in all directions foreseeing the drastic changes in my life all over again. To keep my head straight, I thought to focus on something productive. And that was school. I'm happy I did it,” she said.

Although it was not easy for her, Sanchez is happy to have pursued it.

“It helped me get a grip on my own life, too. The exercise of taking Masters in Journalism isn't just for more knowledge or to equip me better as a professional. It was also, and mostly in this particular circumstance, a way to discipline my mind,” she said.
