MANILA – Philippine representative Karen Ibasco nabbed the gold medal among Asian contenders in the national costume competition of the 2017 Miss Earth pageant.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Ibasco said her outfit was made by Louie Pangilinan, a fashion designer from Laguna.

According to Ibasco, she is having so much fun making new friends in the competition. “[My journey has been] great and I cannot wait for the coronation night. Everybody is nervous but I am excited,” she said.

When asked who she’s closest to, Ibasco quipped: “It’s Colombia. I am always with her. I am also always with Belgium and Nepal and also Chile.”
