MANILA—For consumers who have had a flip phone before, nostalgia will hit them hard with Nokia's latest release.
Finland's HMD Global has decided to take a trip down memory lane by bringing back the classic Nokia flip phone, but this time with a vastly made-over version on the 2720 model.
The 2720's body is an homage to a bygone analog era, but its functions are smartphone-like with the presence of "essential apps," such as Facebook and WhatsApp.
"It’s the flip phone you remember, with some new upgrades," Nokia said of the 2720 on its website.

The flip phone is the latest in a line of gadgets Nokia has resurrected after touchscreen smartphones have taken over the market.
In 2017, the company resurrected its nostalgic Nokia 3310, which used to be one of the world's most popular call-and-text handsets.
