MANILA -- Philippine bet Catriona Gray is looking forward to flying to Thailand where this year’s Miss Universe pageant will be held.

This, after the Miss Universe Organization finally announced the details for this year's pageant last Tuesday.

“I think it’s a great venue. They are pageant fans like us, and their culture is so beautiful, diverse and rich. It would be nice to experience and to explore that as a candidate, with the rest of my Miss Universe sisters. Plus malapit lang here in the Philippines,” Gray said in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Thursday.

Gray also commented on reports in various pageant websites saying she is one of the early favorites to win the competition.

“Blessing 'yan kasi it gives us an extra boost of support also to know that different countries are also favoring me in some way or seeing good things in me. So it really make me feel good. I mean I’m working in my hardest but there’s a lot more to come,” she saod.

When asked about details about her national costume, she just said that “it would be the first time that a costume like that will be worn on Miss Universe.”
