MANILA – Filipino-British beauty Rachel Peters was crowned the new Miss Universe Philippines on Sunday night.

Peters, who hails from Camarines Sur, defeated 39 other contestants in the national pageant, making her the country’s next representative in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant for 2017.

While she’s had a lot of support from her family, friends and fans during the competition, another person who has constantly believed in Peters is her boyfriend, Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte.

One look at Villafuerte’s Instagram page would show how he has consistently cheered on for Peters even before the pageant.
