BORACAY ISLAND - Speakers blasted thumping music while some employees indulged in boodle fights and sing-along programs as beachfront businesses here held farewell parties Wednesday night, hours before the island shuts down for half a year.

The islanders gave remaining tourists a final taste of its famed party culture before they turn to clean-up and rehabilitation efforts.
