PANGLAO, Bohol -- It's no secret that tourists flock to Bohol to see its world-famous Chocolate Hills.

But more than the picturesque land formations, the province is also home to a number of scenic spots and activities perfect for summer.

A 30-minute drive from the province's capital Tagbilaran is Panglao Island which features a long stretch of powdery white sand beach. A more laid-back version of Boracay, Panglao exudes a relaxing charm with only a number of beachfront restaurants and shops.

Tourists can opt to bask in the sun's heat, get a massage by the beach, try local treats, or simply chill at some of the beachfront restaurants and bars.

The island is also home to a number of luxury accommodations such as the Amorita Resort which prides itself with its "green" operation.
