PANGLAO, Bohol -- It's no secret that tourists flock to Bohol to see its world-famous Chocolate Hills.
But more than the picturesque land formations, the province is also home to a number of scenic spots and activities perfect for summer.
A 30-minute drive from the province's capital Tagbilaran is Panglao Island which features a long stretch of powdery white sand beach. A more laid-back version of Boracay, Panglao exudes a relaxing charm with only a number of beachfront restaurants and shops.
Tourists can opt to bask in the sun's heat, get a massage by the beach, try local treats, or simply chill at some of the beachfront restaurants and bars.
The island is also home to a number of luxury accommodations such as the Amorita Resort which prides itself with its "green" operation.
Amorita offers a complete vacation experience with its very own spa, infinity pools with stunning cliff-side views of the sea, and easy access to diving and snorkeling sites.
Guests are in for a gastronomic adventure with Amorita's Saffron Restaurant which serves all-day meals; and Tomar! which serves classic tapas, paellas, and a fine selection of wines and whiskeys.
For adventurers, many resorts in Panglao offer a number of water activities such as diving, kayaking, paddle-boarding, snorkeling, and dolphin watching.
