Based on Instagram posts of her just having fun, Miss Universe Colombia Andrea Tovar is a beautifully confident person with a good chance to win the 65th Miss Universe competition this month.

"This is a dream for me and I hope [to] completely win [it]," she told ABS-CBN News' Dyan Castillejo.

But just in case she ever she needed a further confidence boost, she'd do well to look at the messages of support from not only her countrymen, but also from Pinoy pageant fans. Reacting to the warm welcome she and the other candidates received, she said: "The culture is so similar. I feel so at home here."

A dark cloud hanging over her campaign to take home what would be Colombia's third title, however, is the fact that her country had the crown last year --for a few minutes that is. In a now infamous gaffe, American TV personality Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Colombia's Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner, instead of Filipina Pia Wurtzbach, sparking outrage from her countrymen.

But Tovar isn't feeling any pressure to exact revenge of any sort. She just wants to win the title, because as already said, it has been her dream. "It was an error," she said of Harvey's error. "I understand it was a difficult situation to accept. Us Colombians, we were sad. But it was a mistake. Now it is different situation we are in."

Tovar is just one of the candidates looking to succeed Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2015. Among the other favorites are Miss Universe Venezuela Mariam Habach, Miss Universe Thailand Chalita Suansane, Miss Universe Brazil Raissa Santana, and the Philippines' own Maxine Medina.

Shortly after arriving, Tovar took a selfie with Medina, erasing any fears from fans that it will be awkward and tense between the two because of the mistake last year.

She also earlier told reporters: "I love the Philippines. It's a big opportunity to be here in this amazing country. I am so excited for the pageant! And I want to know your culture, including your food."
