Imelda, Imee poised for re-election in Ilocos Norte

Former First Lady Imelda Marcos is likely to be re-elected as representative of the 2nd District of Ilocos Norte, partial and unofficial results of Monday's elections show.

As of 8:50 p.m., the Marcos matriarch, widow of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, has 115,357 votes.

Her opponent, independent candidate Lorenzo Madamba, is far behind with only 1,812 votes.

Her daughter, unopposed Imee, is also poised to be re-elected as governor of the province. She has 237,152 votes.

The only son of the Marcos couple, Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Jr., is also leading in the vice presidential race with 10,401,640 votes, as of writing.

Liberal Party's Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo follows with 9,479,549 votes.

Their victory in this year's elections will cement the ultimate political comeback for the whole family.
