CAVITE (UPDATED) - Vice-presidential aspirant Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Friday alleged that the Liberal Party (LP) is now shifting to a "Plan B" supposedly after losing hope that the party's standard-bearer, Mar Roxas, can win the presidential race.

Speaking to reporters in Cavite, Marcos claimed the "Plan B" entails the LP to focus all of its resources and manpower to help Roxas' running mate, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, win the vice-presidential race.

The next step, he claimed, will be for the party members to impeach the probable president-elect Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to pave the way for a turnover of power to Robredo.

"Plan B, kasi gumive up na sila kay Mar Roxas dahil hindi talaga kayang ipanalo, ipipilit na lang nila na ipanalo si Robredo sa pandaraya," Marcos said.

"Inumpisahan na nila dito sa mga survey, sa mga trending, tapos ipapanalo nila si Robredo at i-impeach si Duterte kapag si Duterte ang nanalo. Yun daw ang plano para LP pa rin daw ang mamumuno," he added.

According to Marcos, he got the information from "friends" inside the administration party.

"Kahit papaano, may kaibigan pa naman tayo sa loob ng Liberal at yun ang sinasabi nilang nagiging usapan," he said. "Kung hindi kaya ipanalo si Mar, pwede pa rin sila gumawa ng presidente nila at ito yung pamamamaraan na kanilang sinasabi."

The senator, however, clarified that the so-called Plan B is possibly not a consensus among the ranks in the administration. "Kung hindi man ito official ng LP, masasabi natin meron sa loob ng LP na ganyan ang iniisip," he said.

'COURTING DUTERTE SUPPORTERS'

In an ambush interview, Robredo said she was saddened by the statements of Marcos, who, she believes, is lying in an attempt to woo the supporters of Duterte.

"Palagay ko, kino-court niya ang Duterte votes. Puwede niya namang ligawan iyong mga supporters ni Mayor Duterte na hindi siya nagsisinungaling. Nakakalungkot na he has to resort to allegations such as this," the congresswoman said.

"Hindi niya ako siguro kilala. Hindi naman iyan ang mundo ko. Sila ang mga pulitiko. Ako, bagong-bago akong pulitiko at iyong klase ng pulitikang sinimulan ng aming mag-asawa, hindi naman ganoon. Hindi gaya ng pulitika nila," she added.

Marcos was in Bacoor, Cavite on Friday where he delivered a speech before a huge crowd at the city hall gymnasium.

Marcos was again endorsed by Bacoor mayoralty candidate Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla.

On Thursday evening, Marcos held his own miting de avance in Mandaluyong where he was endorsed by incumbent Mayor Benhur Abalos.

In his speech, he reiterated his accusation that the administration party is making false surveys to condition the mind of the public.

Both LP candidates are now running second or statistically tied in first place with frontrunners Duterte and Marcos.

"Tingnan mo ang mga survey, dumadami ang mga undecided imbes na kumaunti. Niluluto na ang survey, tapos dun nilalagay ang boto ko. Isipin mo nawalan ako ng boto sa Ilocos at dumadami ang undecided," Marcos said.

NO MANIPULATION

For his part, Roxas has denied allegations that the administration is manipulating survey rankings of candidates.

"Nung sila ang namamayagpag sa surveys, aba, pinaka-the best, pinaka-credible, dapat paniwalaan ang survey. Ngayon na pababa sila sa survey, hindi dapat paniwalaan. Eh this is the same survey," he said.

"Nung dati kami nahuhuli sa surveys, wala silang imik, walang masabi. Ngayon na kami'y nangunguna sa survey, ang dami nilang reklamo. So yan po ang katotohanan on the ground. Yan ang sentimyento ng ating kababayan. Merong mga organic, homegrown, kusang mga pagkikilos ng ating kababayan, ng the silent majority."

Robredo, meanwhile, has also criticized Marcos for believing surveys only when he is ranked first.

"Alam mo, iyong number one siya, naniniwala siya. Ngayong hindi na siya number 1, hindi siya naniniwala," Robredo said. "Hindi lang naman ito iyong survey na number 1 ako. Iyong dalawang magkasunod na SWS (Social Weather Stations), number 1 din ako."
