BULACAN - For the first time, TV host-actress Kris Aquino on Friday appeared in a campaign rally for the Liberal Party's (LP) candidates and expressed support for standard bearer Mar Roxas and his running mate Leni Robredo.

Aquino made a surprise appearance at the Meycauayan College Annex Gymnasium in Bulacan where President Benigno Aquino III also delivered a message.

She vowed to campaign for Roxas and Robredo across the country to ensure the continuity of her brother's reforms and programs. She said she told her brother this morning her intention to help in the campaign.

She said it was her decision to help and that her brother did not ask for it.

The President, meanwhile, again alluded to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte's vow to stop crime in months once he assumes office or he would resign, saying it was Roxas who had the record to reduce crime as secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) with the help of the Philippine National Police's (PNP) Oplan Lambat Sibat.

Roxas was represented in Meycauayan by his son Paolo; Robredo, her sister-in-law Penny.
