MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) disputed the recent reports saying Filipina on death row Mary Jane Veloso could be executed this January.
DFA spokesperson Charles Jose said the reports were inaccurate, adding that the agency already checked the information with the Philippine embassy in Indonesia.
"'Yung sinasabing report na kasama raw siya (Veloso) sa listahan ng ma-eexecute, itong report na ito ay inaccurate and unreliable kasi chineck natin sa embassy natin sa Jakarta at wala silang natatanggap na official information from the Indonesian government regarding this," Jose said.

Indonesia has convicted Veloso for drug smuggling. She was supposed to be executed last April but the date was deferred following a plea from the Philippine government.
Meanwhile, Veloso's parents are flying to Indonesia to celebrate their daughter's 31st birthday.
Celia and Cesar Veloso only have one wish for Mary Jane's birthday, and that is for their daughter to be set free.
