VANCOUVER – A Filipino-Canadian teenager was recently chosen to dance with popstar Justin Bieber during his recent "Purpose" tour in Vancouver.

Thirteen year old Rhys Gutierrez still can't believe she was on stage dancing with idol Justin Bieber last weekend.

Gutierrez was among the four teens chosen to dance with Bieber as he sang "Children" during his Purpose tour in Vancouver.

"He touched me, I remember it was on this shoulder. After the concert, I was like 'Did that happen?' It was just so amazing and surreal, couldn't believe that happened," she said.

Gutierrez has been a Bieber fan for a long time now, she even watched his concert here six years ago.

Dancing with Bieber was a dream come true for the Surrey teen who found out about it after choreographer Nick Demoura called out to fans 15 under chance to dance with their idol on stage.

Gutierrez sent her dance video the same day and was emotional after getting the news two days after.

But dance coach Joe Tuliao said Gutierrez has been a hardworking dancer ever since.

"That proud moment knowing that one of your students is dancing for the biggest pop star in the world right now, I'm very proud of her. Rhys, stay humble, stay hungry, always learn and be a sponge. Absorb everything," he said.

The young Fil-Canadian has been featured on various local media after, and she's more than happy to share her experience to inspire other kids.

"Just have a lot of confidence in yourself, even if you feel like not doing it, just go for it, give it a shot and you'll be surprised with the outcome, the results," she said.
