WEST COVINA, California – While a newborn baby continues to recover in a local hospital, authorities have released video of his apparent birth.

Homeless Filipina Mary Grace Trinidad, 37, was seen making her way to the restroom of a Subway restaurant at about 8:07 a.m. on Monday.

Trinidad is known around the Filipino hub where patrons and workers say she has been homeless for some time.

Many believed she had mental and drug problems and the neighborhood all knew she was pregnant.

Ten minutes after Trinidad entered the restroom, she is then seen exiting the store looking visibly slimmer, leaving behind a trail of blood and fluid.

As employees tried to figure out the situation, they reportedly heard crying coming from the restroom.

Paramedics eventually made their way to the shop and were also seen on video rescuing the new born.

Trinidad was also admitted into the hospital but was separated from the child.

The transient, who was already wanted on a narcotics related warrant, is expected to be formally charged and booked with attempted murder and child abandonment upon her release. Bail is expected to be set at two million dollars.

The West Covina Police Department decided to release the video in an effort to raise awareness on the Safe Surrender Program which allows mothers to turn over their babies to local fire departments or hospitals within 72 hours of their birth with no questions asked unless signs of child abuse are visible.
