Top 15 cities with highest index crimes

IS YOUR CITY SAFE? The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday released a list of 15 cities which tallied the highest number of index crimes from 2010 to 2015.

The crimes included in the index are murder, homicide, robbery, theft, carnapping and physical injury.

Topping the list is Quezon City which recorded 65,514 cases out of the total 383,116 index crimes reported in the last five years.

Manila ranked second with 54,689 cases.

Cebu City is third with 38,797.

Davao, regarded by many as the country's most peaceful city, is fourth with 37,684 cases.

The list was sent out amid the 2016 election campaign.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is running for president on a campaign platform of wiping out criminality and corruption in 6 months.

Davao City recorded the highest number of murder cases at 1,032.

Administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas has belittled Duterte's promise, pointing out Davao's crime statistics.
