MANILA - It was your standard boy meets girl narrative. Jason Francisco, a cookie-cutter bad boy from Oriental Mindoro, falls in love with Melai Cantiveros, her quirks and all.

Their love story began inside the house of "Pinoy Big Brother," which provided it with the feeling that destiny was working behind the scenes, if you consider the thousands who audition just to be on the reality show.

No, Cantiveros and Francisco were meant to meet each other, meant to be plucked from the huge pool of hopefuls, meant to enter the particular "PBB" season at the same time, and meant to marry three years later.

But it was also meant to perhaps end.

Francisco, on Wednesday, punctuated his fairy tale relationship with Cantiveros with the admission that "Melason" -- the name of their love team-- was over. "Wala na po ang Melason," he announced on Instagram, explaining that it was because Cantiveros did not tell him that her onscreen partner for an afternoon series will last past the pilot week.

Many were understandably sad that Francisco and Cantiveros decided to split, especially since they already have a daughter. With that in mind, we take a look back at their relationship -- their highs and lows -- and maybe shed light into the early cracks that fans hoping for forever just refused to see, or give them hope that they will get back together. After all, they did already break up once.

As the first paragraph states, Cantiveros and Francisco met during their stint in "Pinoy Big Brother" back in 2010. Their unexpected love story garnered a devout following, resulting in Cantiveros winning the whole thing. But unlike most love teams who fall out of the spotlight, the then-real life couple went on to star in their own television series, and become well-known personalities in their own right.
