MANILA – An emotional Angelica Panganiban took to social media to give thanks after her latest movie, “The Unmarried Wife,” made P17 million on its first day on Wednesday, according to figures released by Star Cinema.

#TheUnmarriedWife ... Dedication and hard work really pays off. Thank you @v_r_v_ for a very beautiful script! To you and @hyroaguinaldo ❤️ bawat linya sa pelikula, importante. Thank you direk Maryo! For believing in me. It's an honor to work with you again. May our experiences in this film be our first, and not our last. Sa staff at crew!!!! Kay madam Elma, @marcndeleon , clau, justin at aaron. Salamat!! Ate malou 😍 i miss your mga pa merienda!!

Obviously overwhelmed by the movie’s early success, Panganiban also thanked her director Maryo J. delos Reyes, co-stars Dingdong Dantes and Paulo Avelino and the whole production team which made the film possible.

“It's an honor to work with you again.

As for Avelino, Panganiban said: “Salamat (Paulo) sa unang pagkakataon na makatrabaho ka. May our experiences in this film be our first, and not our last.”

During the movie’s press conference, Panganiban said her only wish for her birthday this year is for moviegoers to appreciate their film which they worked hard for.
