MANILA – It’s not every day that you get a chance to rub elbows with an Oscar winner.

Lovi Poe was given an opportunity to see Eddie Redmayne at an event by a luxury watch brand in Italy, and she immediately seized it.

In an interview with the local fashion website Preview, Poe shared details of her brief encounter with the English actor, who is best known for the films “The Theory of Everything,” “The Danish Girl,” and “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

“I knew he would be there, but I didn’t know that I was going to meet him or let alone sit on the same table as him. It was an intimate dinner party. He was sitting right across me and I tried my best to keep my cool. But I think he thinks of me as the creepy girl across the table,” the actress said in jest.

“I’m a huge fan of his. I mean, c’mon, it’s Lili (of ‘The Danish Girl’)! What a fantastic actor. I believe all actors and real artists look up to such talent,” she added.

Recalling his meeting with Redmayne, Poe continued: “I was taking a snap while walking on the carpet/pathway to the palazzo then suddenly, my friend Mike called me and said, ‘Come, you have to go meet Eddie Redmayne.’ I was not prepared at all because it all happened so fast, so as I was walking toward him, my heel got stuck in my dress and I was trying to take it out in front of him.”

“He was holding my hand to help me because I could’ve fallen off the platform. Hahaha! Oh, I felt so embarrassed and everyone was laughing. I was obviously starstruck like crazy.”

Poe went on to describe Redmayne as “such a gentleman” and “very down to earth.”

“He was like, ‘Are you okay?’ And I was like, ‘I’m panicking!’ I was panicking to the point that I didn’t have the time to even grasp that moment. Well, at least everyone had a good laugh. Eddie Redmayne was such a gentleman and he was talking to everyone on the table. He was very down to earth and I did not see a single drop of arrogance in his ways,” she said.
