MANILA - The contestants of reality talent search "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" have been further trimmed down, with the announcement of the top 12 on Sunday.

Judges Vice Ganda, Sandara Park, Aga Muhlach and Yeng Constantino named nine of the top 12 contestants, while the female fans were also given the chance to vote for three contestants who will be part of the top 12.

The following contestants will be performing in the next round:

Henz Villaraiz
Mark Oblea
Markus Paterson
Tristan Ramirez
James Ryan Cesena
Ford Valencia

Before the top 12 were named, the five groups first performed boy band hits for the Middle Rounds.

Three groups performed on Saturday. The first group, composed of Joshua, Henz, Luigi, Joao and Mark performed "Sukob Na."

Gabriel, Isaiah, Russell, Wilbert and Markus performed N'Sync's "This I Promise You."

Niel, Keanno, Raynald, Raymond and Allen, on the other hand, performed "Love Me for a Reason."

The fourth group, composed of Ford, Tony, Jindric, Angelo and Jimsen, went for the OPM hit "Nanghihinayang."

The last group, whose members were from the competition's bottom 20, performed "Uptown Girl."

The top 12 will be performing live starting next week.

Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Pinoy Boyband Superstar" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and on Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
