MANILA – Sam Milby said he did not hesitate to accept his role in the upcoming movie “The Third Party” even if the movie has a gay theme.

This amid persistent speculations about the actor's sexual preference.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Milby said he accepted the project right away because he likes challenges.

“Walang hesitation. I was excited kasi as an actor, you’re always looking for something different, a different role to challenge yourself,” he said.

Stressing that he is comfortable with his sexuality, Milby said: “I think if I were someone that were trying to hide that about me, I don’t think I’d want to do a role that would expose that part about me. People are going to think what they want.”

Aside from Milby, “The Third Party” also stars Angel Locsin and Zanjoe Marudo.

In the film, Locsin and Milby play exes who have managed to keep their friendship intact even after they broke up. But later on, Milby’s character finds a new love in Marudo’s character.

More than the gay plot, the three lead stars said “The Third Party” also delves into friendship and how a person gets to know more about himself.
