MANILA - Actor Vhong Navarro is thankful for the dismissal of the rape and attempted rape complaints filed against him by model Deniece Cornejo.

In a message sent to ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual, Navarro's manager, Chito S. Roño, said that his ward is "grateful" and "overwhelmed" by the court's resolution.

"Vhong Navarro is grateful and overwhelmed by [the] DOJ decision dismissing rape charges against him," Roño was quoted as saying.

In 2014, Cornejo filed 2 separate cases against Navarro, claiming he raped her both on January 17 and January 22, the night of the controversial mauling incident that left the actor seriously injured.
