Gabby Concepcion was asked by PEP about his shelved movie project with Sharon Cuneta during a press conference held on Tuesday.

One reason Concepcion turned it down was he did not like being offered the role based only on a synopsis and not a full story.

He also explained that, while he had his hesitations over the proposed story of the film, it was the fact that he had just signed a fresh contract with a rival network when the project was being conceptualized that had more bearing behind his decision.

"Bagong pasok ako, so I just felt na ayaw kong mawala iyong momentum ng [GMA-7] na kauumpisa lang namin tapos bigla akong gagawa sa iba," Concepcion said, before noting that while Dingdong Dantes agreed to top-bill Star Cinema movies, his situation as a newbie to the network is different.

Concepcion also acknowledged that he did not tell Cuneta his reason for backing out of the reunion movie.

He clarified, though, that he wants to push through with the project at some point: "That's how I feel, maski one time lang, whether it’s the last movie we'll ever gonna do, at least mayroon kaming prinesenta."

Concepcion first reasoned that his tight schedule and commitments made it impossible to shoot a movie with Cuneta.

It was reported back in December that Concepcion and Cuneta will be reuniting onscreen, which would be the first time since they worked together in the 1992 film "Tayong Dalawa."
