MANILA, Philippines -- Young actress Empress Schuck portrays a woman with a "third eye" in her latest big screen outing.
After the successful run of her last TV series "Mundo May ay Magunaw," Schuck returns to the big screen via Regal Films' horror film "Guni-Guni."
In the doppelganger-inspired flick, Schuck plays Joanna, a young woman who can communicate with paranormal entities.
"Ako po si Joanna, ako po 'yung nakakakita sa mga multo, ako 'yung may third eye," Schuck said during a press conference for the film on Thursday.
"Ako lang dito ang nakakita at nakakaramdam. Sila 'yung nagpapakita sa 'kin, sila 'yung nagri-reach out sa 'kin, ako naman gusto ko sila makita at makausap," she added.
Directed by Tara Illenberger and slated for an August 22 premiere, "Guni-Guni" also stars Lovi Poe, James Blanco and Gina Alajar.
This isn't the first time the "Rosalka" star headlined a horror film. In 2008, she was among the cast of the eighth installment of "Shake, Rattle & Roll." Schuck then followed up her first horror outing with Star Cinema's "Dalaw" in 2010.
No more than a month after the premiere of "Guni-Guni," Schuck will appear in another horror film via "Amorasa," where she co-stars with actress Angel Aquino.
Joining Aquino and Shuck in "Amorosa" are Kapamilya actors Ejay Falcon and Enrique Gil. According to Schuck, the horror flick is set for a premiere on August 29.
Aside from her back-to-back horror outings, Schuck will also appear in Metro Manila Film Festival entry "Tuhog," and in the upcoming sea epic of ABS-CBN, "Apoy sa Dagat."
Time for love
With a packed schedule ahead of her, does the 19-year-old actress still have time to find love?
"I'm single, pero may nanliligaw," Shuck said, when quizzed on whether she has a boyfriend.
But the young actress shared -- she is no rush to be in a relationship. Shuck even related her apprehensions over entertaining suitors in her own home.
