Mocha dares bashers to volunteer in DSWD

MANILA - Eyebrows were raised after Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon told ABS-CBN News that he tapped singer and dancer Mocha Uson, one of President Rodrigo Duterte’s fiercest supporters, as a "social media consultant" at the bureau.

It even spawned a hashtag that poked fun at allegedly how easy it is to get a government position under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

But as it turned out, Uson will not be holding an official position at the bureau.

The BOC later denied Faeldon's statement to ABS-CBN News, following the social media backlash.

Uson also released a statement claiming that the President's critics maliciously used the reports to discredit the current government.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual on Thursday, Uson urged bashers to volunteer and help underprivileged kids at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Make good use of your time," she said.

She also reiterated her intent to help the Duterte administration through social media.

Kaya I encourage everyone to volunteer to help in any way you can," Uson said.
