MANILA - New Kapamilya actor Aljur Abrenica is joining the cast of the primetime series "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano."

The show's lead star, Coco Martin, made the announcement on his Instagram page on Wednesday.

Posting a photo of Abrenica, Martin wrote: "Siya si Miguel. Abangan si @ajabrenica sa 'FPJ's Ang Probinsyano!' Malapit na!"

On Tuesday, Abrenica said he is "speechless and honored" to be part of ABS-CBN.

His 5-year contract with rival network GMA-7 expired last March.
