MANILA – Paulo Avelino finally broke his silence on why he was a nowhere in sight during the seventh birthday celebration of his son with his former girlfriend, actress LJ Reyes.

In an interview with entertainment site PEP, Avelino briefly said he was not at the party because he was not invited.

“Hindi ako invited. Hindi ako invited, yun lang,” he said.

Nonetheless, Avelino said he still sent a gift for his son Aki.

While Avelino was not present during the Batman-themed celebration, several people noticed that actor Paolo Contis was constantly by Reyes and Aki’s side at that time.

As Reyes’ current boyfriend, Contis has also become close to Aki, and his birthday greeting for the young boy on Instagram proves this.

Posting a series of shots of them together, Contis wrote in the caption: “Happy Birthday Akio!! You already know everything I want to tell you.. Just remember to always be a good boy to your mommy okay?? I will always have your back no matter what! I love you big boy!!"
